I am deeply inspired by the complex ecology surrounding a life form. My current work focuses on connections between plants, animals, and humans expressed through ceramic sculpture.
I am a ceramic artist based in Mancos, Colorado, near Mesa Verde National Park and the San Juan Mountains. Early in my career I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Western Washington University, where I focused my artistic expression through painting and textiles. This foundation helped me become an art conservator for many years. In 2013, I began exploring working with clay through classes with the Tucson Clay Co-op in Tucson, Arizona and developing a sculptural style merging plant and animal forms.
In recent years my work has been exhibited in the Tohono Chul Botanical Garden art galleries in Tucson, AZ, in the 43rd Contemporary Craft exhibit at the Mesa Contemporary Art Museum in Mesa, AZ, and several times in the Tucson Sculpture Festival. My sculptures can be found at Kay Contemporary Art on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, NM.
